DAY 3: Unusual Cravings

Day 3 DARE Challenge:

OK, today’s my first gasping moment with this challenge!

Was a little over zealous with my juice ingredients this morning.  Clearly it’s not a case of ramming every fruit or veg within reach into the juicer…some form of balance is required.

Happened to have a whole bunch of celery on my bench, which became the inspiration for this morning’s juice.  Wanting to make the most of the entire stalk, I opted to juice leaves and all.  So 6 sticks of celery later, I added carrot, an apple, handful of mint and slice of ginger.

I’m sure it would have tasted fantastic had it not been for my celery overdose which made the concoction way too bitter.  However, after learning that drinking raw juice in the morning is beneficial for loading your body with nutrients for the day, I drunk up.

Being determined to soak up the nutrients I persevered through my entire glass and tossed my refill down the sink.

Lesson learnt, less is best…when it comes to celery leaves.

CHALLENGE #3:
Had an unexpected experience today.  I’ve started craving bananas and lemons.  What’s unusual is that I don’t particularly like bananas.  And the only lemons I tend to eat are the ones squeezed into my favourite dessert, lemon tarts.

So figure it’s my body telling me something, maybe prompting me to have more potassium with the bananas.  Listening to my body I get the feeling the craving for lemons is about freshness and tang…although am sure there’s something more scientific or nutritional at play.

VERDICT:  It’s DAY 3 and almost time to start connecting with the raw experts to help answer some of my questions.  Of course the internet is an amazing resource centre, yet nothing quite beats asking one-on-one questions and gaining tailored support.

So looking forward to introducing you to our ‘dare challenge’ experts very soon.
